Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, a disciple of Dr. Mikao Usui, was born on September 15, 1880, in a Buddhism-practising family in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Hayashi played a significant role in turning it into a systematic spiritual and medical practice. He learned Reiki from Dr. Usui and established a Reiki clinic in Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Hayashi pioneered the majority of the current spiritual and healing practices in Reiki. He introduced Reiki and new healing modalities, including group healing. He became the Grandmaster of Reiki after Dr. Mikao Usui passed away. He also trained many students and passed away on May 11, 1940.
